I come from a family of artists, tracing back to my great great great great grandfather, John Constable. I share his love of all things natural, and this has always fed through into my work.
My illustrations are inspired by the natural world and represent my joy of colour and of organic forms. I like capturing ‘imperfections’ in nature and pursuing new processes stemming from ‘happy accidents’, through what is a persistently experimental and evolving method of creating art; I work initially in watercolour, enjoying watching the colours bleed into one another, not always in complete control of where the paint is going, and then adding further details in coloured pencils and ink.
I am currently living and working in Somerset, as a graphic designer for a particularly colourful clothing company; the joy of colour is evident throughout my entire portfolio.
